2.4475 / UNS N14052 – FeNi49,5 – ALLOY 51 – Pernifer 51

W. Nr. 2.4475 / Alloy 51 is a nickel iron based alloy required for applications where a hermetic seal between metal and glass or ceramic is required. It is also used for applications where a certain thermal expansion is required within a certain temperature range. Examples of such applications are light bulbs, vacuum tubes, optoelectronics etc. can be given.

Due to its special properties, the 2.4475 / Alloy 51 sealing alloy is also suitable for applications involving bonding metal with glass or ceramic materials.

Typical applications within electronics include reed switches and pins for airbag igniters and hermetically sealed battery seats.
